September 2, 2016 – August is not the most spectacular Landscape Close Up time in the desert. Everything is a vague shade of brown, hibernating from the heat and intense sun. Prettiest time is certainly spring, when the cacti sprout insanely gorgeous flowers, so incongruous to the splines. Even without the flowers, though, there is still beauty in the thorny patterns, especially when backlit by the sun.
WEEK 35: Landscape Close Up
Get up close and personal with nature in this natural beauty shot.
Flowers, bees, bugs and spiders might all make great shots
I was torn between two images. In many ways, I think the agave army below is more interesting, although certainly not as vibrant. Both people I asked for help deciding, though, chose the sunset cactus.
Not a lot to say this week. I’ve been extremely preoccupied with my latest obsession: Ketogenic eating. In fact, I’m SO obsessed, I’m working on a post about what this way of eating has done for me. Can’t wait to hear about it, can you? I know. I’m sorry. Just my problem with moderation rearing it’s ugly head again. Sometimes it’s a good thing, sometimes it’s a detriment to everything else around me. This, however, has seriously changed my life for the better.
Okay… Until that scintillating post–or next week’s FOOD photo–or maybe a combo of both since they’re related? Hmmmm…
