July 13, 2016 – Three weeks late on the PORTRAIT FAMILY, but hey. There are no rules, right? The last couple of weeks I wasn’t in the mood to put my mug in front of a camera. Not that I ended up using my face, but I might have. Since my beloved Mummy and Daddy are in a different state, I instead focused on my immediately family. It may not be big, but it’s a good one.
WEEK 28: Portrait/Family
Whether it’s the family you are born with or the one you choose…
show the world what family is to you!
In 1991, Brian and I independently found ourselves in a similar crossroad: Go further into debt and remain at our respective stupidly expensive schools, or change paths. The film company I worked for was bought by New Line and we all got pink-slipped, so I needed a job, PRONTO, and applied for a soon-to-opened Good Guys electronic store to sell cameras until I figured out what to do. Brian similarly found himself taking a job selling audio equipment, a natural since that’s how he earned most of his way through school.
And this is where we met.
We have been inseparable ever since that first day of training, first as buddies, and later, well, you know. I can’t imagine my world without him. He supports me in everything I do, takes me on grand explorations, makes me think, and doesn’t get mad about my stupid migraine issues. He is patient and smart and takes infinitely good care of me.
And besides, he cooks like a Mexican grandmother, so what’s not to love??
Until next week’s Street Portrait and Colorful Landscape (I’m falling behind…)
