MAY 10, 2014
It’s true. I love avocado. How could you not?? Creamy. Delicious. Perfection. Food items seem to make frequent appearances in my 100 Happy Days posts, and I’m sure I’m not the only guilty party on that account. Not only is eating a pleasurable experience, so is the preparation, at least for us-not that avocados need much preparation.
After working a fourteen hour shift yesterday, and after a week filled with Sports coverage (eww), I didn’t feel like doing much of anything today, and neither did my feller. I love lazy Saturdays, when you lounge in bed drinking coffee, working on projects side-by-side.
Around two, our stomachs started growling, so feller went to the store to pick up dinner stuff. He wanted to try making a slightly different version of the meat he made a couple of days ago, this time using pork instead of beef. Plus, I needed to photograph it. Last year, I started recording some of our recipes down on a blog, TOWNHOMESTEADER, and when he made it last time, I wasn’t around to shoot the process. There’s something fun about shooting food, especially knowing you get to eat it afterward!
And yeah. In case you’re wondering, the tacos were pretty phenomenal.
Before the tacos, though, came the guacamole. While I was hacking away at the computer, he pulled out the molcajete and mashed up an avocado for me, and that just made the day perfect. How could I go wrong with the two things in this picture? My man. And that oh so wonderful… Avocado.
Until tomorrow…
Later gators!
