Well, that pretty much sums up life right now! Other than number 3, of course.
September 29, 2017, we sold our condo in Orange California without a plan. I mean, we have a gazillion plans, but in this scenario, no concrete plan regarding where to live.
After seventeen years in a condo we’d intended to own for only a year, we needed change, and with the market just right, we said…
… And Hello Vagabond Life!
When Brian first suggested living in hotels and Airbnbs during the week (spending weekends at Two Crows, our home in Yucca Valley), I laughed. NO WAY could I handle not having a place to call home, even if only temporary.
But you know what? I was wrong. Not only am I handling it…
I love it.
Is it sometimes inconvenient? Yeah, but moving from place to place is also really interesting.
Some of our temporary homes
We’ve stayed in a backyard cabin in Yorba Linda with quite the landscaping.
And the most romantic shabby chic cottage in Santa Ana.
We’ve had a super urban experience in an apartment over a store in the very active Santa Ana arts district.
And a secluded mid-century house on the top of a hill, complete with a scary near-vertical road.
We are weirdly more productive, have better time-management, and are more organized. Plus, being in different environments has stirred me creatively, and after the insane few months we had while selling the house and moving our stuff around, I’m thrilled to have that part of my brain back.
So how long will we do this? Who knows! We’ll just see where the vagabond life leads us.
